Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Quorumz, including the public website at quorumz.com and any associated APIs, services, and applications (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About Quorumz
Quorumz is a geo-journalism platform. It aggregates publicly- available content from social networks, news media, and citizen witness submissions onto a single live map of the world, clusters that content into topics + opinions, and tracks stance shifts on tracked public figures over time. The Service is operated by the Quorumz team. Contact: hello@quorumz.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is not directed at children. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Accounts (optional)
Most of the Service is available without an account. If you choose to create one, you do so via a WebAuthn passkey bound to your email address. You are responsible for safeguarding your passkey and for any activity under your account. We do not store passwords. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms.
4. iWitness submissions
When you submit an iWitness report (a "Geobit") you agree that:
- The content is yours to submit, or you have the necessary rights and permissions for any third-party content included in it.
- You grant Quorumz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to display, distribute, modify (only for technical purposes such as transcoding or thumbnail generation), and make the Geobit publicly accessible on the Service.
- The coordinates you confirm at submission are intended to reflect the location of the event being reported, not necessarily your own location. Quorumz does not require you to disclose your real-world identity.
- You will not submit content that violates the Acceptable Use rules in Section 6.
You may request takedown of your Geobit at any time by emailing us at hello@quorumz.com with the permalink. We will process the request within a reasonable time absent legal or moderation considerations.
5. Public sources + Public Figures
The Service indexes content that is already public on third- party platforms (X, Telegram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Bluesky, Truth Social, and public RSS feeds). We attribute each rendered post back to its original source and link to the original URL.
The Public Figures layer tracks statements made publicly by named individuals in their public capacity (heads of state, public officials, executives of public companies, and similar). Inclusion is editorial in nature and based on the figure's public role and statements; it does not imply endorsement or opposition. If you are a tracked figure or a representative of one and wish to request removal from the index, please email hello@quorumz.com.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, dox, or harm any individual or group.
- Upload or submit content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or in the United States, including but not limited to: child sexual abuse material, content inciting violence, content infringing third-party intellectual property, or content soliciting illegal activity.
- Knowingly submit false or fabricated iWitness reports (including fabricated coordinates, fake media, or mis-attributed events).
- Scrape, mirror, or rate-abuse the Service in ways that would burden our infrastructure (light client-side use for personal viewing is fine).
- Attempt to identify anonymous iWitness contributors or circumvent the anonymity protections.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service, including attempting to bypass security or access controls.
- Use the Service to violate any applicable laws or third- party rights.
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or block IP ranges that violate these rules without prior notice. We may report serious violations to law enforcement.
7. Intellectual property
Quorumz, the Quorumz name, logo, and the design of the Service are owned by us or our licensors. Aggregated public content on the Service belongs to its respective authors; Quorumz displays it under fair use, the public-source platform's terms, and / or the platform's developer agreement (e.g. Meta Threads API terms). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any third-party content to us beyond the license you grant for iWitness submissions in Section 4.
8. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that any rendered post is true, current, complete, or uncontested. The Service surfaces public content; you are responsible for your own evaluation of that content before acting on it.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUORUMZ AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, REPUTATION, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred US dollars ($100 USD) or (b) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (in most cases this will be zero, as the Service is free).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Quorumz harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) content you submit to the Service, or (b) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service, without notice, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if the Service is discontinued. Sections 4 (license grant for past submissions), 7 (IP), 8 (no warranty), 9 (limitation), 10 (indemnification), and 13 (governing law) survive termination.
12. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party APIs and infrastructure (Google Cloud, Cloudflare, Meta, X, Google Gemini, and others). Your use of public content from those platforms is also subject to those platforms' own terms. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of third-party platforms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the United States, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the date of the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted in our public release notes. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
